GR221 Hiking Guide: GPX files
Kraig Adams, kraigadams.com

These are my own GPS recordings of the GR221 Dry Stone Route in Mallorca,
walked in 5 days, March 20 to 24, 2026, from Port d'Andratx to Pollenca.
They show the way I actually walked. Where I left the official line (the
high route over Coll des Prat on Day 4, for example), the files follow me,
not the official stages.

THE FILES

gr221-day-1.gpx Day 1: Port d'Andratx and Sant Elm
gr221-day-2.gpx Day 2: On to Estellencs and Banyalbufar
gr221-day-3.gpx Day 3: Banyalbufar to Deia (via Esporles and Valldemossa)
gr221-day-4.gpx Day 4: Deia over Coll des Prat (via Soller and Cuber)
gr221-day-5.gpx Day 5: Down to Lluc and Pollenca
gr221-full-route.gpx All 5 days in one file, plus waypoints for the start,
the towns, the Consell refuges near my line,
Coll des Prat and the finish in Pollenca.
stats.json Distance, climbing and descent for each day and the total.

Load one day at a time on your watch or phone. Use the full route file to
see the whole trip on one map.

My tent nights are not marked. Camping on forest land in the Serra de
Tramuntana needs permission all year. Plan your nights around the refuges,
hotels and official campsites described in the guide.

Day 5 ends in Pollenca town. The official GR221 continues to Port de
Pollenca; I took the bus for that part.

HOW TO LOAD THEM

AllTrails: on a computer, sign in at alltrails.com, create a new map and use
Import to upload the file. The map then shows up in the app on your phone.
Downloading it for offline use needs a paid AllTrails plan.

Gaia GPS: on your phone, open the file from Files, email or AirDrop and choose
Gaia GPS, or on gaiagps.com choose Import. Then download the map area for
offline use.

Garmin: in Garmin Connect (web), go to Training, Courses, Import, and pick the
file. Save it as a course and send it to your watch.

Organic Maps: first download the free offline map for the Balearic Islands.
Then open the GPX file on your phone and choose Organic Maps. It shows up in
your bookmarks and tracks list and works fully offline.

Before you leave home, download offline maps and check that each day shows up
in your app. Trails, signs, fountains and refuges change. Follow the trail
signs on the ground and use this as a guide, not a guarantee.
