Lofoten Hiking Guide: GPX files
Kraig Adams, kraigadams.com

These are my own GPS recordings of my six days hiking across the Lofoten
Islands in July 2026, from Moskenes (where the Bodø ferry lands) to the
Sletteng kryss bus stop on the E10 near Borg. They show the way I actually
walked. All timestamps have been removed.

THE FILES

lofoten-day-1.gpx Day 1: Moskenes to Å (14.0 mi / 22.5 km)
lofoten-day-2a.gpx Day 2, before the boat: Å to Vindstad (10.5 mi / 16.9 km)
lofoten-day-2b.gpx Day 2, after the boat: Kjerkfjorden to Horseid (2.1 mi / 3.4 km)
lofoten-day-3.gpx Day 3: Horseid to Fredvang kryss (12.7 mi / 20.4 km)
lofoten-day-4.gpx Day 4: Skjellfjord kryss to Napp (21.0 mi / 33.8 km)
lofoten-day-5.gpx Day 5: Gravdal to Lauvdalen (19.9 mi / 32.0 km)
lofoten-day-6.gpx Day 6: Lauvdalen to Sletteng kryss (4.7 mi / 7.5 km)
lofoten-full-route.gpx All the walks in one file, plus waypoints for my
camps, the ferry terminal, the Reinefjord boat
stops, the bus stops, the Munkebu hut, Gammen and
the stream where I filled water on Day 2.

The gaps between files are a boat (Vindstad to Kjerkfjorden, route 18-773)
and buses (Fredvang kryss to Leknes, Leknes to Skjellfjord kryss, Napp to
Leknes). Don't try to walk them. The Nappstraum tunnel is closed to people
on foot.

Total: 84.7 mi (136.4 km), about 17,900 ft (5,450 m) of climbing.

HOW TO LOAD THEM

AllTrails: on a computer, sign in at alltrails.com, create a new map and use
Import to upload the file. The map then shows up in the app on your phone.
Downloading it for offline use needs a paid AllTrails plan.

Gaia GPS: on your phone, open the file from Files, email or AirDrop and choose
Gaia GPS, or on gaiagps.com choose Import. Then download the map area for
offline use.

Garmin: in Garmin Connect (web), go to Training, Courses, Import, and pick the
file. Save it as a course and send it to your watch.

Organic Maps: first download the free offline map for Norway (Nordland).
Then open the GPX file on your phone and choose Organic Maps. It shows up in
your bookmarks and tracks list and works fully offline.

Before you leave home, download offline maps and check that each day shows up
in your app. My camp spots are where I slept, not recommendations: check the
Lofoten no-tent zones in the guide first. Paths, rules and timetables change.
