Resurrection Pass Hiking Guide: GPX files
Kraig Adams, kraigadams.com

These are my own GPS recordings of my five days hiking alone from Hope to
Seward, Alaska, May 23 to 27, 2020: the Resurrection Pass Trail, the Bean
Creek Trail into Cooper Landing, the Russian Lakes Trail and the Resurrection
River Trail. They show the way I actually walked. All timestamps have been
removed.

THE FILES

resurrection-pass-day-1.gpx Day 1: Hope to Fox Creek (14.9 mi / 24.0 km)
resurrection-pass-day-3.gpx Day 3: Swan Lake to Russian River Falls (24.9 mi / 40.0 km)
resurrection-pass-day-4.gpx Day 4: Russian River Falls to the Resurrection River (25.3 mi / 40.7 km)
resurrection-pass-day-5.gpx Day 5: Resurrection River to Exit Glacier Road (11.8 mi / 19.0 km)
resurrection-pass-full-route.gpx All four recorded days in one file, the rowing
across Swan Lake as its own track, and waypoints
for the trailheads, the public use cabins on the
way, my camps, Wildman's in Cooper Landing and
                              Resurrection Pass.

THERE IS NO DAY 2 FILE. I didn't record May 24, when I walked from my camp
past Fox Creek Cabin over Resurrection Pass to Swan Lake (about 13 miles on
the map). Follow the Resurrection Pass Trail on your offline map for that day.

Also left out: a short ride up Resurrection Creek Road on Day 1, and the ride
from the Resurrection River trailhead to Seward on Day 5.

Total recorded walking: 76.9 mi (123.7 km), about 6,500 ft (1,980 m) of
climbing. With Day 2, about 90 miles on foot.

HOW TO LOAD THEM

AllTrails: on a computer, sign in at alltrails.com, create a new map and use
Import to upload the file. The map then shows up in the app on your phone.
Downloading it for offline use needs a paid AllTrails plan.

Gaia GPS: on your phone, open the file from Files, email or AirDrop and choose
Gaia GPS, or on gaiagps.com choose Import. Then download the map area for
offline use.

Garmin: in Garmin Connect (web), go to Training, Courses, Import, and pick the
file. Save it as a course and send it to your watch.

Organic Maps: first download the free offline map for Alaska. Then open the
GPX file on your phone and choose Organic Maps. It shows up in your bookmarks
and tracks list and works fully offline.

Before you leave home, download offline maps and check that each day shows up
in your app. Public use cabins must be booked on recreation.gov, and you can't
camp within 300 feet of a cabin you haven't booked. My Day 4 camp was not a
designated campsite. The Resurrection River Trail has unbridged fords and
stretches where I lost the trail. Paths, rules and prices change. Use this as
a guide, not a guarantee.
