Privacy
This notice describes the site’s current privacy approach, including its optional email signup.
Site features
The site does not include an inquiry form, password-based account system, advertising tracker, or marketing customer database. Optional Google Analytics is consent-gated, and the optional newsletter form asks only for an email address.
Purchased guide access
Stripe processes website payments and sends payment emails. The site keeps an order identifier, Stripe checkout/payment references, a hashed access code and order status to deliver purchased guides. It checks payment, refund and dispute status with Stripe when you open protected content. A strictly necessary, encrypted, HttpOnly cookie remembers the order on this device for up to 30 days and is removed when you sign out. The site does not store card details or a separate marketing profile. Downloaded files remain on your device. Access-code form values are excluded from analytics. Gumroad purchases are separate and remain with Gumroad.
Guide planning worksheet
The Alta Via 1 worksheet lets you enter dates, booking statuses and costs. Save on this device stores those entries in your browser; they are not submitted to this site or to the huts. Load saved plan restores that browser’s copy, and Remove saved copy deletes it. Download plan creates a file on your device. Clearing this site’s browser data also removes the saved plan.
Newsletter
Newsletter signups are processed by Kit. Kit receives the submitted email address and the ordinary technical information needed to process the request. A confirmation email is required before the subscription becomes active, and every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option. Kit maintains the subscriber record under its own privacy practices.
KraigOS Social Comments
KraigOS Social Comments is a private workflow used to review public comments on Kraig Adams media. When an Instagram account is expressly connected, it may process the account identifier, username and account type; media identifiers, links, timestamps and comment counts; and public comment identifiers, text, usernames, timestamps and reply relationships. It does not request access to Instagram direct messages, publishing or insights.
How Instagram data is used
Instagram data is used only to collect, organize, rank and review public comments and to avoid processing the same comment twice. It is not sold, used for advertising or used to build cross-site profiles. Operational data is kept in a private local system and is not made public by this website.
Instagram data retention and deletion
Instagram data is retained only while it remains operationally useful for comment review. Access can be revoked in Instagram’s Apps and Websites settings. To request deletion of data processed by KraigOS Social Comments, visit https://kraigadams.com/data-deletion or email kraig@kraigadams.com.
Hosting and security
The hosting and security providers process ordinary request information and operational logs needed to deliver and protect the site. Cloudflare may set the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie for bot management; it expires after a period of inactivity and is not a Kraig Adams account or advertising cookie.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics is available only after a visitor chooses Allow analytics. It records page paths without query strings, a small allowlist of site actions, coarse page and placement labels, one-based item positions, stable public content identifiers, broad device category, and sanitized campaign labels. It does not send query strings, form values, or search terms. Google receives ordinary technical request information and may set first-party analytics identifiers after consent. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Campaign context is held only for the current browser tab. Visitors can change or withdraw their choice through Analytics choices in the footer.
External links and email
Guide stores, video platforms, social profiles, Kit, and email links open or use services with their own privacy practices. An email inquiry is handled by the sender’s and recipient’s email providers, not by a form on this site.
