Hiking 70 miles Alone in Idaho

A hiker overlooking a blue alpine lake beneath jagged Sawtooth peaks.

About this work

A July 2020 solo loop through Idaho’s Sawtooth Wilderness, beginning near Grandjean. Three daily hiking chapters follow alpine lakes, jagged peaks, and wildflower meadows. An extended discussion then covers the route, camping, water crossings, food, and the conditions on that trip, before explaining the tripod-based shooting style and the process of editing the film.
