Description: In June 2025 I hiked the Ak-Suu Traverse alone in the Tian Shan near Karakol, Kyrgyzstan. Four days and about 42 miles by my GPS, from the Boz-Uchuk valley over three high passes and the Ala-Kul pass to the Karakol River bridge, wild camping and one night at a yurt camp. It was my first time in Central Asia. Kyrgyzstan hiking in early summer, at the tail end of snowmelt.
