In July 2020 I hiked the Trans-Catalina Trail across Santa Catalina Island, California, in two days: from Avalon past Hermit Gulch, Black Jack and the Airport in the Sky to a night at Little Harbor Campground, then over to Two Harbors, up the Silver Peak Trail to Parsons Landing and back along the coast to Two Harbors. It's the trip from my film Hiking the Trans-Catalina Trail in California. This guide has my GPS files, maps and notes for both days, the free hiking permit and the campgrounds with their 2026 rules, every water tap, the boats from San Pedro and back, heat and when to go, and what I paid.

Since September 2026 I film with a smaller setup: the Pocket 4 and the Mic 3 on the trail, and the Mini 5 Pro in the air.
